Ideally you will have the following attributes:

• Hold an engineering degree or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years' of dam engineering experience

• Demonstrated civil engineering experience associated with design and construction of dams, bridges and / or heavy civil engineering
• Demonstrated understanding of dam engineering for principles for dam design and remediation
• Demonstrated capability for analysis, problem solving and innovation

• Demonstrated understanding of dam safety and risk management principles

The role

We are looking for a civil engineer with to 3 to 10 years' of experience. Dam engineering combines many disciplines engineering including heavy civil, structural, seismic, geotechnical, hydraulics, instrumentation and data analysis, groundwater, rivers and dam safety. You need to be a self-starter, motivated, willing to learn, keen to make the most of working alongside experts in the dam engineering field.

The Civil Engineer role in the Water Resources field is an opportunity to work alongside and support a group of engineers working on challenging dam projects and have the opportunity to develop your own area(s) of expertise. Depending on your skills you can anticipate working on a variety of dam types and deliver a range of services from dam safety investigations, hydraulic modelling, dam upgrade design, to feasibility studies, and design and construction of dams, canals and associated structures.

Ideally you will have:

• Hold a civil engineering degree or equivalent
• Demonstrated civil engineering experience associated with design, analysis and construction of dams and other hydraulic structures such as canals and river improvement

Due to increased workload, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer to support site investigations and geotechnical design projects.

The role

We are looking for an Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer with to 3 to 7 years' experience. This role combines office, and site-based work related to dam investigation, design and construction projects. You need to be a self-starter, motivated, willing to learn, keen to make the most of working alongside experts in the dam engineering field.

Depending on your skills you can anticipate working on a variety of earth dams and concrete dam types and deliver a range of services from geotechnical investigations and analysis, dam safety assessments through seismic analysis, to feasibility studies, and design and construction of dams and canals.

Ideally you will have:

• A tertiary, civil engineering, geology qualification or similar
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
• Demonstrated site investigation experience
• Relevant engineering geology / core logging / field mapping experience
• Demonstrated rock and soil logging skills to NZGS standards
• High level of computer skills with working knowledge of GIS software and techniques, AutoCAD and DIPS would be an advantage.
• Proven ability to effectively operate geological modelling and geotechnical analysis software, we use Geo studio Seep/W and Slope/W, Midas and Leapfrog software
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Analytical and interpretative skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a pressurised environment
• Valid New Zealand driver's license
• Willingness and ability to travel overseas and within New Zealand as required to meet our commitments to clients
